The investment comes after Cybercore was acquired by Moelis Capital Partners (MCP), the private equity business affiliated with Moelis & Company, in July.

Headquartered in Elkridge, Maryland, CyberCore’s supply chain management services include the secure procurement, installation, integration and management of complex IT systems to streamline customers’ acquisition and refresh cycles. CyberCore also provides a full suite of IT managed services, including network engineering and architecture, systems engineering and lifecycle management.

Governor Martin O’Malley will officially open the lab as part of National Cyber Security Awareness Month.

Dr. William J. Von Hagel, Jr. published an article in the Summer 2011 edition of the Journal of Leadership Studies, entitled Precipitating Events Leading to Voluntary Employee Turnover Among IT Professionals. The perceptions and lived experiences of 20 IT professionals in the defense contracting industry were explored in a qualitative phenomenological study to better understand the precipitating events, or shocks, that led to their decision to voluntarily leave an organization. The results of the study can be used by business leaders to create innovative retention plans and enact positive organizational change to reduce voluntary employee turnover.

On Thursday, June 2, 2011 CyberCore Co-Founder and Chairman Kevin Powderly partnered with Congressman Dutch Ruppersberger, Co-Director of the Maryland Cybersecurity Center,  Patrick O’Shea, and Deputy Secretary of DBED Dominick Murray to address the Cyber security of our nation.  Together they discussed the joint effort to increase security of the cyber world.  The group answered questions about the importance of having a secure network infrastructure for all segments including commercial and government. Kevin noted, “the Cyber War that is underway is a new type of terrorism and it is essential that we continue to talk about it and develop the technology to counter it.”
